JOB DETAILS:

POSITION: MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
DUTY STATION: EXIM BANK UGANDA HEAD OFFICE
REPORTING TO: HEAD OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Job Purpose
Preparation of management accounts, tax compliance and overall accounting processes in the Finance department and update the Head of Finance and Administration daily on the same on the matters relating to the bank.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Undertaking daily general ledger reviews to ensure general ledger data integrity. Investigate daily general ledger movements and report any suspicious movements to the Head of Finance and Administration.
2. Undertaking Monthly product performance reviews, customer and business units’ performance analysis clearly highlighting the trends, variances, and correlations.
3. Preparing Performance reports including Daily MIS, monthly Management accounts including the commentary and participate in the preparation of Board papers.
4. Support forecasts andance and Administration to prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and rolling forecasts /revised estimates for the different business units.
5. Investigating any key variances to the Budget, providing explanations, and recommending corrective actions.
6. Suggest and implement cost optimization measures to improve the cost income ratio from time to time.
7. Supervising the Administration and procurement Units of the Bank to ensure value for money.
8. Ensure Tax compliance in liaison with the external tax consultants.
9. Liaising with ICT department to automate Finance Department processes which are Manual.
10. Management of the Banks Fixed Assets register.
11. Monthly computations of cost and yields for key products and ensuring margins are reasonable.
12. Any other duty as may be assigned to you by Management from time to time.

Requirements

1. Professional Chartered Accountant.
2. Minimum of 5 years preferably post-qualification in the field of accounting. (Preferably in a banking environment).
3. A structured approach to dealing with complex and variable work environments in an independent manner.
4. Ability to balance opposing business requirements.
5. Ability to balance long term and short-term requirements independently.
6. Strong evaluation, communication, and reporting skills.
7. Able to provide advice and cause/effect evaluation to support business decision making.
8. Independent and logical thinker, yet an achiever and implementer.
9. Good at managing large volumes of information and can add value through management reporting.
10. Builds relationships and networks easily.
11. Strong service ethics.
