Project Support Engineer at Q-Sourcing
Job Summary:
CITCC is seeking 6 qualified local engineers to support ongoing telecommunications infrastructure projects across Uganda. The engineers will assist Chinese project staff in coordinating construction progress, ensuring quality and safety, and facilitating communication with stakeholders. Some roles require Chinese language proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Chinese technical staff in managing project construction, quality control, and site safety.
- Coordinate with local government departments, NITA-U, and subcontractors to resolve project-related issues.
- Support administrative tasks including visa processing, document handling, and safety management.
- Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and on-site coordination.
- Use tools such as Google Maps, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office software to support daily tasks.
- Facilitate cross-cultural communication, including translating (for those who speak Chinese).
- Participate in on-the-job training provided by Chinese staff and actively engage in learning telecom-related processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Telecom, or related field).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Google Maps, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and general office software.
- 3–4 candidates must be able to speak Chinese (basic proficiency acceptable).
- Work experience in the telecommunications field is highly preferred.
- Must own a laptop and smartphone for daily work functions.
- Willingness to travel across Uganda for field assignments.
- Strong interest in telecom development and ability to work in multicultural teams.
Work Conditions:
- Field and office-based depending on project phase.
- Frequent upcountry travel with tight deadlines.
- Long working hours, including weekends or holidays, may be required.
- Collaborative environment with both local and Chinese technical teams.
