Hima Cement is hiring an Alternative Fuels Engineer to ensure operations at all Alternative Fuel platforms (Sawdust Shop, Biomass Feeding, Carbon Black) in the plant, covering all AF warehouses, AF mixing store, offloading activities, and day-to-day AF/co-processing requirements linking AF and plant operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards by all contractors and employees at AF sites under supervision.
- Manage operations of the sawdust plant for effective performance.
- Develop a planned housekeeping schedule for all AF plant sites.
- Ensure timely offloading and properly stacked storage of all AF materials.
- Coordinate AF plant activities with the plant operations team for optimized and sustained operations.
- Collaborate with the AF sourcing team to develop and share monthly/yearly consumption plans aligned with business ambitions.
- Monitor AF stock levels across all streams to provide early warnings of potential stockouts.
- Manage allocation of AF warehouses for different AF streams to ensure easy accessibility by the plant.
- Develop a planned maintenance schedule with the Maintenance Department for AF platforms (sawdust machine, drier, biomass transfer equipment, chemical chute, and Carbon Black shop).
- Ensure incoming AF bags are undamaged for resale to suppliers.
- Collaborate with the plant operations team to develop and implement trial protocols for new AF streams.
- Work towards achieving the targeted AF mix ratio to meet cost objectives.
- Complete required training and development objectives for self and team within assigned timeframes.
- Innovate and develop new renewable energy, biomass streams, and industrial wastes for energy recovery.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., engineering) with a proven track record in alternative fuels usage.
- Over 5 years of industrial operations supervision, preferably in process, quality, or production in the cement industry.
- Experience managing industrial plant operations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
- Result-oriented, self-driven, with a high sense of quality and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Knowledge of cement production processes.
- Proven knowledge of industrial occupational health and safety procedures.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, logistics, and warehousing management.
- Experience in preparing operational budgets and reporting.
- Knowledge of material transport equipment.
- Additional professional qualifications are an advantage.
