Qualifications and experience:
1. Must be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with bias in Accounting or Finance, or any other related Accounting and Finance Degree obtained from a recognized institution of higher learning.
2. Must have at least level II of professional qualification in Accounting like CPA or ACCA.
3. At least two years’ work experience as an Accounts Assistant; Familiarity with basic accounting principles; ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
4. Knowledge of computer accounting packages like Pastel, SAP is a MUST.
5. Should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work beyond normal working hours.
6. Must be a mature and practicing Christian.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Responsible for billing students, debtors, and other incomes to the University every semester.
2. Submitting scholarship reports through the Senior Accountant to the Scholarship Committee.
3. Preparing income reports every month.
4. Providing a list of doubtful debtors.
5. Controlling credit and following up on debt.
6. Cross-checking payment amounts and records for accuracy.
7. Preparing monthly reconciliations.
8. Preparing financial reports.
9. Ensuring safe custody and maintaining financial records.
10. Any other cross-checking duty as shall be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
