Summary:
As an Agent Banking & Mobile Money Cashier, you will be a frontline service provider, responsible for efficiently and accurately processing a variety of financial transactions on behalf of a partner banks and various mobile money platforms. You will deliver excellent customer service while adhering to the regulations and procedures of both the banking partner and the mobile network operators. Your accuracy, customer focus, and adherence to security protocols are crucial for the success of the agent business.
Responsibilities:
• Agent Banking Transactions:
• Process cash deposits and withdrawals for customers of the partner banks using the designated agent banking platforms.
• Verify customer identification and transaction details according to the bank's KYC guidelines.
• Issue transaction receipts and maintain accurate records.
• Balance the daily cash and float for agent banking activities.
• Resolve basic customer inquiries related to agent banking services.
• Mobile Money Transactions:
• Facilitate mobile money deposits and withdrawals for various mobile network operators (e.g., MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money).
• Verify customer identification and transaction details as per mobile money platform requirements.
• Process airtime top-ups and bill payments through the mobile money system.
• Maintain accurate records of all mobile money transactions.
• Manage and balance the cash and float allocated for mobile money transactions.
• Resolve basic customer inquiries related to mobile money services.
• Combined Responsibilities:
• Understand and apply the specific procedures and regulations for both agent banking and mobile money transactions.
• Clearly explain the features and benefits of both agent banking and mobile money services to customers.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of transaction limits, fees, and service availability for both platforms.
• Customer Service:
• Greet all customers with courtesy and professionalism.
• Listen attentively to customer requests and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve basic issues related to both agent banking and mobile money services.
• Escalate complex issues to the Manager or the respective platform's support team.
• Build positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Compliance and Security:
• Adhere strictly to the KYC and AML regulations of the partner banks and mobile money operators.
• Ensure the security of cash, transaction records, and the agent banking/mobile money terminals.
• Report any suspicious transactions or activities immediately.
• Maintain the confidentiality of customer information.
• Operational Duties:
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Ensure that all necessary transaction materials (e.g., receipts, forms) are readily available.
• Report any technical issues with the agent banking or mobile money platforms promptly.
• Prepare daily transaction summaries and cash reconciliation reports as required.
• Participate in training sessions provided by the partner bank or mobile money operators.
- Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma for a recognized academic institution.
• Previous experience in handling cash and providing customer service is essential preferably in a mobile money agency, retail setting, or financial services.
• Familiarity with mobile money platforms (e.g., MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) and basic agent banking concepts is highly desirable.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict procedures.
• Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and trustworthiness.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle a high volume of transactions efficiently.
