To support the Electrical Projects team in the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems across distribution network projects. The Graduate Trainee will participate in project activities under close supervision, developing technical and project management skills while contributing to safe and effective project delivery.

Impact

This role provides foundational exposure to real-world power distribution projects. Through active learning and participation, the trainee supports UEDCL’s infrastructure development goals while preparing for future engineering responsibilities.

Key Result Areas

  • Participate in on-the-job training related to electrical system design, project planning, and field supervision.
  • Gain knowledge of distribution infrastructure, safety codes, and technical standards.
  • Assist with preparing basic electrical designs and reviewing project drawings.
  • Help with compiling material lists and tracking deliveries for site use.
  • Accompany engineers to site visits to observe installations, site measurements, and compliance checks.
  • Support simple tasks like updating inspection logs and assisting with equipment setup under supervision.
  • Learn and adhere to UEDCL’s safety practices and regulatory standards for construction and electrical work.
  • Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Help document progress on electrical works, including compiling photos, material usage logs, and work reports.
  • Maintain a personal training log reflecting technical skills acquired and challenges observed.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to understand the integration of electrical systems into broader construction projects.
  • Attend project meetings and technical discussions for learning purposes.

Person Specifications

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Must have graduated within the last three (3) yearsfrom a recognized institution

Experience

  • No formal experience required.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in field and office environments.
  • Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Problem-solving attitude and interest in infrastructure projects
