The Human Resource Service Centre ( www.humanresourcecentre.com ), is spearheading the process of recruiting a Programs Director for Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD), to be based in Kampala. (Position is for Ugandan nationals only)
Job Title: Programs Director.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer.

Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD)non- governmental organization founded in 2009, working to transform the living conditions in Kampala’s poorest slum areas by empowering the youth, children and women to mitigate the vulnerabilities through education, economic empowerment and health programs.
Job Summary
The Programs Director will be responsible for overseeing the timely and implementation of all AFFCAD projects within the terms of partnership Agreements and project documents.
He/ She will actively participate in developing fundraising strategies and identifying potential donors. The Programs Director will lead and ensure high quality delivery of all of AFFCAD’s Uganda programs. As an organization we are looking for colleagues to co-learn and co-build the organization – our dream and our movement. .

Key Duties and Responsibilities.
Strategy, Program Development and Management
• Develop and oversee the implementation long-term f strategic plan and annual programs.
• Engage and regularly update donors and stakeholders on programs implementation.
• Ensure submission of standard reports to donors and other stakeholders.
• Lead and ensure high quality delivery of all of AFFCAD’s Uganda programs, responsible for effective management and coordination of programs run by AFFCAD
• Ensure that all implemented activities are relevant to the vision, mission and values of AFFCAD.
Networking
• Support and connect with strategic partners on various projects that are in line with AFFCAD vision, mission and values.
• Represent AFFCAD in other NGO and INGO forums, meetings and events.
Fundraising
• Lead the implantations of the organization’s fundraising and resource mobilization strategy writing grant proposals and work with the CEO to ensure smooth scale-up of the potential and strategic partnerships.
• Identification of program funding gaps, priorities and opportunities.
• Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
Staff Management, Professional Development and Team building
• Ensure effective quality assurance and overall integrity of all programs. This includes participating in appointing program and project officers, supporting the teams to develop clear implementation strategies, and provide excellent support to run the activities effectively on the ground
• Ensure evaluations and disciplinary measures are made as necessary according to AFFCAD policy.

Qualifications & Skills
• A bachelor’s degree in Organizational development, Community development, Social Sciences, Social Work or any related field.
• Post Graduate Diploma or Master a added advantage.
• 3 years of working experience in a related field, leading projects – and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously – especially experience of taking an idea from inception to completion.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, highly organized and professional in approach to managing teams and partnerships.
• Experience mentoring and managing people and helping them to develop as leaders.
• Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs.
• Computer literacy in word processing and data management.
• Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of capacity building.
