Background

MTN Uganda is hiring a Senior Manager – Brand Analytics & Pricing Management to manage the development and implementation of the overall MTN Mobile Money strategy and value propositions. Support business in providing optimal pricing structures to maintain profitability in line with strategy. Manage overall Momo Brand strategy (ATL, BTL & TTL) in liaison with MTNU Brand strategy. Measure performance and provide insights through collection and interpretation of data concerning customers and their usage behavior, channels used, competition and the macro-environment into relevant, accurate and usable strategic knowledge

Main Job Functions:

Pricing Strategy and Implementation

  • Develop and maintain a pricing framework and methodology in the organisation
  • Develop and manage tools and models to assess MTN’s key value drivers and provide ad hoc analytical support to assess key strategic decisions’ economic and commercial impact (e.g., major investments, disruptive products or pricing plans)
  • Optimization of the company’s value propositions through developing competitive pricing strategies with segmented propositions targeting specific customers.
  • Provide and validate main strategic assumptions for all business cases in the organisation to ensure alignment with MTN’s Business Plan and strategy
  • Pushing the barriers and driving creative ways of pricing, bundling and packaging that are more effective than currently deployed in the markets
  • Ensure collaboration with other business units in developing business models and frameworks that support business decisions and business planning and assist in developing and reviewing scenarios within the models.
  • Work with Product Managers and Marketing Communications to ensure that pricing is understandable and attractive to target customers
  • Methodically collect competitive market analysis and performance measurements, develop alternative responses, and make appropriate recommendations to preserve and expand products market position.

Brand and Media Management.

  • Develop and execute integrated brand communication and media plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead brand research, consumer insights, and market analysis to inform brand strategy.
  • Ensure consistent messaging, strong brand integrity, and effective brand touchpoints across all channels.
  • Manage end-to-end brand and media campaigns, content development, and marketing collateral.
  • Implement brand awareness, perception, and loyalty initiatives and track performance.
  • Guide media strategy, evaluate media proposals, and optimize media by target segment.
  • Coordinate with media owners, agencies, and service providers, including contract and SLA negotiations.
  • Manage production schedules, approvals routing, and campaign execution timelines.
  • Develop processes that improve brand marketing and communications efficiency.
  • Provide insights, updates, and strategic support to business units and executive teams.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Economics/Commerce) or related courses
  • Postgraduate qualifications advantageous
  • Industry experience or functional experience an advantage

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the area of specialization
  • Experience in Business Analytics, Pricing, Market Research, financial modelling and product evaluation.
  • Experience in supervising/managing others
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization
  • Prior experience of mobile industry
  • Demonstrated ability to influence management level staff in group and 1:1 situations
  • Disciplined detail-oriented style, combined with ability to simultaneously work at a strategic level
