JOB DETAILS:
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and supervise land preparation and road construction activities under the Outgrowers scheme.
- Ensure high-quality land preparation and proper construction of main feeder roads, tract networks, and bridges.
- Maintain roads with adequate drainage, appropriate cambering, and good-quality marram.
- Monitor attendance and punctuality of subordinate staff and take disciplinary action as needed.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are correctly set and aligned for optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Identify and establish high-quality marram quarries and oversee proper excavation.
- Schedule preventive maintenance for road construction and earth-moving machinery at the main workshop.
- Liaise with the Satellite workshop for rescuing section machinery and equipment during breakdowns.
- Monitor fuel usage and consumption to prevent abuse.
- Maintain daily records of section activities.
- Conduct on-the-job training to enhance staff skills.
- Prepare and submit routine reports to the Dty Outgrowers Manager for updates.
C. Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
C1.1 Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering from a recognized Agricultural Institute.
C1.2 Experience, Skills, and Competences:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Supervisory skills are an added advantage.
