On behalf of our client SPIRO, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced Battery Lead (Aftersales Battery Operations) to work in Uganda and Rwanda.

Country After sales Manager.
Job purpose:
Own and lead end-to-end battery management and maintenance operations in The assigned country—ensuring safe receiving, triage, repair execution, quality control, spares escalation and ordering, tooling readiness, workforce scheduling, and performance reporting. The Battery Lead ensures maximum battery uptime, predictable turnaround time, and strong asset governance across service centers, swap stations, and field escalations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the battery aftersales workflow: receiving → triage → diagnosis → repair → QC → release/redeployment; enforce release gates.
- Ensure accurate receiving, serial-level traceability, and asset governance (labeling, segregation, quarantine, storage standards, audit readiness).
- Deliver repair performance against KPIs (TAT/SLA, FTFR, repeat failure reduction, audit score, defect leakage).
- Enforce strict EHS/HV safety discipline: isolation verification, LOTO, PPE, incident containment, near-miss reporting and closure.
- Lead RCA for top recurring faults; implement CAPA with owners, timelines, and closure evidence.
- Own spares escalation and ordering: forecasting/min-max, urgent escalations, lead-time tracking; align with parts/procurement/finance.
- Ensure tooling and test equipment readiness: availability, calibration, serviceability; maintain ESD controls and safe work zones.
- Plan and schedule resources (shift plan, workload balancing, priority queue management); coach technicians and run competence checks.
- Provide weekly/monthly reporting to Country After sales Manager and dotted-line governance to Africa O&M; publish dashboards and action trackers.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Energy, Quality, IoT/Diagnostics, Procurement, Finance, and EHS for rapid issue resolution.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 3 –6 years’ experience in EV battery service/maintenance/operations (lithium-ion), including 1–2 years in a lead/supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience managing repair operations: workflow control, backlog management, parts coordination, KPI delivery.
- Strong understanding of battery safety and high-voltage working practices.
- Exposure to battery swap operations and high-uptime service networks.
- Familiarity with BMS concepts and diagnostic data interpretation (logs/bench testing; CAN exposure is a plus).
- Working knowledge of Lean/Kaizen and structured problem solving (5-Why, Fishbone, basic FMEA).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Workshop-based leadership with nationwide coordination across service centers and swap sites; travel as required.
May require shift/extended hours support during incidents or high backlog periods.
Strict compliance with PPE and battery safety protocols is non-negotiable.
