To support the Underground Network Maintenance team by learning and assisting in the inspection, testing, and minor maintenance of underground electrical network systems. The trainee will gain hands-on experience in underground cable maintenance, electrical safety practices, and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced engineers and technicians.
Impact
The Graduate Trainee contributes to the team’s reliability efforts by actively learning and supporting safe maintenance practices, helping ensure uninterrupted power supply and building competence for future roles in network operations.
Key Result Areas
- Attend on-the-job training sessions focused on underground network systems, cable fault identification, and safety protocols.
- Shadow engineers and technicians during routine maintenance and emergency response work.
- Assist in routine inspections and simple maintenance tasks on cables, joints, transformers, and switchgear.
- Support equipment handling, cable identification, and site preparation under supervision.
- Observe and help with basic diagnostic procedures for underground faults.
- Learn to use basic electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Follow safety instructions and use PPE correctly at all times.
- Understand and observe standard operating procedures and electrical safety regulations.
- Record maintenance activities, test results, and learning experiences in a structured trainee logbook.
- Assist in preparing simple reports under supervision.
- Participate in team meetings, site briefings, and emergency drills.
- Collaborate with other departments and technicians during joint operations or planned outages.

- Demonstrated understanding of underground network components and maintenance principles.
- Effective contribution to maintenance tasks and site safety compliance.
- Accurate records of participation, findings, and technical exposure.

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- Must have graduated within the last three (3) yearsfrom a recognized institution
Experience
- No prior work experience required.

- Willingness to work in underground and outdoor environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow procedures.
- Commitment to learning and professional development.
