BPUL is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position below:

Job Title: Quality Controller

Reports To/ Direct Supervisor: Quality Assurance Manager

Duty station: Katega Feed Mill

Job purpose:

To ensure the quality and safety of food/feed products across the entire BPUL operations-slaughter house, feed mill and outlets/ shops

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the quality and safety standards.
• Monitoring and controlling production processes to prevent contamination
• Carry out hygiene checks at the factory premises
• Monitor critical control points and implement corrective actions as required.
• Carryout laboratory analysis for raw materials and finished products.
• Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and protocols.
• Participate in internal audits as per the annual plan in place
• Always ensure compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance, supervisor, officer and manager to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Investigating and addressing customer complaints and quality issues.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Train production and quality and safety procedures

Education:

• A minimum of a degree/ diploma in food science and technology or its equivalent
• 3 years of experience in quality assurance/ control with 2 years in a busy broiler /feed processing plant
• Training in ISO audits and Food safety/ Good manufacturing practices
• Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience

Skills and Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in quality assurance in an FMCG environment
• Good verbal communication and training skills.
• Strong understanding of the quality control standards and methodologies.
• Attention to details and knowledge of company specific regulations & standards
• Ability to work calmly under pressure, in fast paced environment and within a big dynamic team
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and poultry/ feed processing regulations
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines
