WAREHOUSE RECEIVING SPECIALIST

Department: Warehouse & Logistics

Location: Nakaseke/Kapeeka, Uganda

Job Purpose

To coordinate and manage the receiving of tiles and sanitary ware into the warehouse, ensuring all incoming products are accurately verified, inspected, documented and safely stored.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving Operations

  • Receive incoming tiles and sanitary ware in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Verify received products against purchase orders, delivery notes, transfer documents and other relevant documentation.
  • Confirm product codes, descriptions, quantities, specifications and packaging.
  • Record all received stock accurately and promptly.

Product Inspection

  • Inspect received tiles for visible damage, breakage, chipping and packaging defects.
  • Inspect sanitary ware for cracks, breakages, defects and other visible damage.
  • Report shortages, excess quantities, incorrect products and damaged goods immediately.
  • Support the resolution of receiving discrepancies.

Documentation and System Updates

  • Prepare and process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and other receiving documentation.
  • Update inventory and warehouse management systems accurately.
  • Ensure all receiving documents are properly approved and filed.
  • Maintain complete records of all received stock.

Storage and Put-Away

  • Coordinate the movement of received products to designated storage locations.
  • Ensure tiles are stored safely to minimize breakage and damage.
  • Ensure sanitary ware is stored securely to prevent cracks and breakages.
  • Ensure all products are properly labelled and stored according to the approved warehouse layout.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate with transporters, warehouse teams, logistics and other relevant departments.
  • Prepare receiving reports as required.
  • Report receiving challenges, damages and discrepancies.
  • Support stocktaking and inventory reconciliation exercises.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Operations or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control or logistics operations.
  • Experience in the tiles, sanitary ware, building materials, manufacturing or distribution industry is an advantage.
  • Basic computer and inventory management system skills.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to safely handle fragile products.
