Our Apprenticeship Program:
The Spidd Africa Apprenticeship Program is a Three month program that provides selected individuals with hands-on experience working on innovative solutions, IT services and solutions tailored to our client’s unique business requirements.
The three-month Apprenticeship program is comprised of assignments designed to help you develop and strengthen your knowledge and skills and build a successful
career at Spidd Africa for the top performers. You’ll get hands-on experience working for a company that uses current technology trends, extensive experience and ambitious strategies.

Your Responsibilities
• Identifying opportunities on which to submit bids and feeding into the decision over whether to bid for the work.
• Researching, writing and/or checking proposals.
• Putting together a team to oversee the bid including overseeing the team during the bid process and making sure deadlines are met.
• Review of invitation to tender and specifications to determine customer’s requirements and understand the project drivers for all opportunities.
• Formulating a winning bid strategy in conjunction with various department members with consideration to overall business targets / strategy.
• Identify and agree scope / timescales for all internal deliverables with the ‘Capture Team’ at the tender kick-off meeting.
• Maintain clear visibility of bid progress at all time.
• Manage the Capture Team to ensure all deliverables are produced in accordance with the tender programme through participation in tender co-ordination and review meetings etc.
• Liaise closely with Procurement and Commercial functions in managing Vendors, external suppliers / subcontractor enquiries.
• Attend customer pre-tender clarification meetings / presentations and undertake site visits where necessary to ensure scope is fully clarified and understood.
• Receive, review and clarify all internal and external supplier / subcontractor inputs to ensure consistency with the tender requirements and all interfaces are co-ordinated.
• Produce the tender price calculation using approved Calculation Tools to reflect internal cost estimates, supplier / subcontractor prices and margins / recoveries in line with business targets.
• Ensure project / contractual risk is fully evaluated and mitigated within the tender proposals as required.
• Ensure that the cost estimates are realistic, robust and competitive while ensuring cashflow is accurately modelled, and appropriate terms of payment proposed to maximise returns.
• Ensure all internal cost estimates are underwritten by the relevant functional head.
• Ensure all external costs are supported by a competitive supplier / subcontractor fixed price and valid quotation.
• Prepare tender approval Document including Calculation Sheet, Cashflow, Limits of Authorisation, Procurement Schedule, Risk Register etc and obtain management approval in accordance with current signature.
• Prepare and compile proposal documentation ensuring that the proposal submission is of a high quality and compliant with customer requirements / instructions.
• Follow-up of tender submission in conjunction with Sales / Business Development to establish competitive position and compliance with customer requirements.
• Receive and respond to all customer requests for clarifications / amendments in a timely and professional manner including maintenance of Tender Questionnaire log.
• Lead the tender negotiation process / meetings / presentations with the customer with participation of the Sales / Business Development executive as required.
• Ensure all orders received are consistent with the tender offer and prepare necessary documentation for handover to Operations in a timely manner.
• Ensure the Salesforce database is maintained and updated with current data at all times.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal partners and external suppliers / subcontractors / consortium partners.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers representatives at all levels and remain customer focused at all times.
• Ensure management are always informed of progress and key events / developments throughout the tender process.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a professional and ethical manner and in full compliance with company procedures, protocols, governance etc at all times.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all Spidd Africa’s Solutions.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the business objectives and Strategic Goals.
• Deputizing for the Bid Manager.

Requirements
• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication or Business Administration.
• Minimum 1-year post qualification working experience managing the complete bidding process for projects.
• Excellent e-skills, including Proficient in MS 365 Office, digital skills and the ability to use modern office technology and related software.
• Practical knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required.
• Ability to do internet research, compile information and find solutions online to information gaps is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and ability to professionally represent the company
• Conscientious, socially skilled, and service-minded attitude as well as high attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work with a team and multi-task, committing to meeting deadlines and delivering good quality work
• Excellent organizational and task management skills, with appropriate attention to details and ability to prioritize work among competing demands under tight deadlines.
• Support colleagues, contribute to team culture, and share responsibility for decision-making and results. Places team agenda before personal agenda.
• Supports and acts in accordance with final group decision; shares credit for team accomplishments and accepts joint responsibility.
• Ability to deliver timely and high-quality products. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously at all levels.
