Reports to: Managing DirectorCity & Local Guides

Supervises: Deputy Manager Credit and Operations, Relationship Managers Other Regular Relationships:Uganda job market

Collections Manager, Risk and Compliance Manager and Finance Manager.

Main duties and Responsibilities

Lead the search for prospective clients and develop plans to increase business as per insights from the credit team’s competitor analysis reports.

Calculate and propose interest rates for all products

Provide oversight over approval or rejection of loan requests, based on credibility, potential revenues and losses

Provide guidance on loan applications due diligence processes in liaison with the legal department.

Job Description

Review register and checklist of loan applications and their status including all outstanding debt retrieval activity

Handle disputed debt amounts and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms

Ensure collection targets set by the company are met

Ensure that all loan/credit transactions are compliant with Company policies

Review credit reports prepared by relationship managers to ascertain and make decisions on credit positions of various clients.

In liaison with Human Resource Manager, provide the right environment to ensure all credit staff are fully productive and recommend strategies for performance improvement.

Conduct performance appraisal for the credit team.

Any other duties as may be allocated by your supervisor.

Bachelor’s degree in economics, Banking and Finance or relevant field

Knowledge and ExperienceEducation

A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a leadership position preferably in a financial institution

Experience working in a fast-paced environment
