JOB OVERVIEW.

Are you passionate about renewable energy and thrive in technical sales? Join Chloride Exide (U) Ltd as we expand our solar footprint across the region. The job holder will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving growth in the solar energy sector across Uganda. This includes managing relationships with key stakeholders, expanding the client base, and contributing to the overall strategy for market penetration.

 Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, and residential solar energy markets to drive market penetration and growth.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders in the solar energy industry to explore C&I projects across the region.
  3. Lead the negotiation and closing of high-value deals and contracts with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  4. Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  5. Participate in the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and presentations.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance) to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects.
  7. Build and nurture key relationships with strategic developers and EPCs in the region.
  8. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for solar products and services.
  9. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  10. Maintain and monitor a sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
  11. Ensure compliance with local regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  12. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and proposal to implementation and post-project evaluation.
  13. Represent Chloride Exide Ltd at industry events, identify and cultivate important partnerships.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. PMP & T3 is an added advantage.
  2. 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally in the energy or solar sector.
  3. Solid understanding of the Ugandan energy landscape, including policy, regulation, and rural electrification initiatives.
  4. Proven track record in driving growth and closing deals in B2B and/or B2C markets.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  6. Strong network within the renewable energy ecosystem in Uganda & surrounding region is a significant advantage.
