JOB DETAILS:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

 On behalf of our client China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd (CPP), we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Chinese Translator based in Uganda to work at site

Roles and Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents, engineering specifications, project plans, and reports from source languages (e.g., English) to target languages as needed.
• Proofread and edit translated materials for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to industry-specific terminology.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication between multicultural teams.
• Interpret during meetings, site visits and conferences as required.
• Maintain and update a glossary of industry-specific terminology to ensure consistency in translations.
• Assist with language-related inquiries and provide linguistic support to project teams.

Requirements

Qualifications 

• Prior translation experience in construction setting or in Oil and gas etc is an added advantage.
• Native English speaker with excellent Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Preference for candidates with relevant language certificates (minimum HSK 3.).
• Familiarity with professional terminology to ensure accuracy and professionalism in translations.
• Proficiency in using translation tools is preferred.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility
