Communications Officer

Our client, a leading NGO, is seeking a full-time Communications Officer to lead the development and execution of the organization’s communication strategy. The role involves creating and disseminating key advocacy messaging and program visibility materials, engaging with media, identifying public engagement opportunities, and supporting the documentation and sharing of key achievements. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, and able to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Experience in media engagement, public relations, and advocacy messaging
  • Ability to develop and implement communication strategies
  • Skilled in creating reports, publications, presentations, and other visibility materials
  • Networking and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Flexibility to handle evolving responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience in communications, media, or advocacy roles
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with media engagement and public outreach processes

An ideal candidate should be flexible, willing to travel upcountry periodically, and able to work in a multicultural community.
