Description

BRAC Uganda is hiring Drivers (4) to ensure that the approved official travels are safe and prompt through professional driving

Under the supervision of the Manager Administration and Logistics

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold and promote BRAC Uganda’s vision, mission, core values, and policies, including compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Drive the assigned vehicle in a professional, safe, and responsible manner while strictly observing traffic regulations and all BRAC Uganda Fleet, Travel, Health, Safety, and Security policies and guidelines.
  • Sensitize staff and all passengers on safety and regulatory requirements during travel and always ensure full compliance. Any cases of non-compliance must be promptly reported to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that BRAC Uganda vehicles are used strictly for authorized official purposes only.
  • Promptly report any mechanical, operational, or safety-related issues concerning the vehicle to the Administration and Logistics Manager.
  • Ensure that the assigned vehicle is always maintained in a roadworthy condition through regular inspections and timely servicing.
  • Ensure that vehicle insurance, licenses, and all statutory requirements are always valid, and promptly notify the Administration and Logistics Manager prior to expiry.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always parked in safe and secure locations, both within office premises and while in the field.
  • Execute assigned duties and movements consistently in line with approved movement plans and schedules.
  • Ensure that all vehicle movements are accurately and promptly recorded in the Vehicle Movement Logbook.
  • Prepare fuel requisitions and ensure that the vehicle has adequate fuel before commencement of any official trip.
  • Prepare material indents for vehicle repairs and follow up to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is clean, presentable, and fit for use always.
  • Hand over vehicle keys to the Manager Administration and Logistics, or any designated officer, whenever the vehicle is parked at BRAC Uganda offices or premises.
  • Prepare and submit standard monthly and any other required reports and supporting documentation to the supervisor and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • In the event of a traffic offence resulting in the issuance of an Express Penalty Scheme receipt, promptly settle the penalty.

Safeguarding roles

  • Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Diploma from a reputable institution andDeliver 2+ years’ experience in driving especially in NGO’s
