Role Overview
The Human Resource Manager will play a critical role in planning, directing, and coordinating human resources activities within our organization. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where you will foster a culture of communication and results-driven performance. The HR Manager will serve as the vital link between management and employees, ensuring that the workplace is productive and compliant with established policies.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Location/Work Arrangement: On-site in Kitintale
- Reporting Structure: Reports to the Managing Director
Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.
2. Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
3. Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
4. Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
5. Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
6. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and other related fields.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role.
- Required Skills: Speaking, Management of Personnel Resources, Judgment and Decision Making, Social Perceptiveness, Complex Problem Solving.
- Required Knowledge Areas: Personnel and Human Resources, Administration and Management, Education and Training, Customer and Personal Service.
- Technology Knowledge: Proficient in Human resources software (e.g., recruitment marketing platforms and applicant tracking systems), Document management software (e.g., Google Drive or Microsoft SharePoint), and Presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides).
- Language Proficiency: English and Luganda.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Duties: Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview, and select applicants; Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers; Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
- Preferred Skills: Critical Thinking, Time Management, Service Orientation.
- Preferred Knowledge Areas: Law and Government, Psychology.
