Our client is a Farm that cultivates approximately 500 acres, focusing on cereals and grains, with 15 permanent staff and 50–300 seasonal casual laborers depending on the farming period
Job Purpose
To provide IT and office automation support for the farm by managing electronic devices, software systems, digital documentation, and user support, ensuring smooth, efficient, and secure office and operational technology use.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Device Management
- Provide day-to-day technical support for: Laptops and desktops, Printers, scanners, and photocopiers, Tablets and smartphones , Routers and internet devices
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software
- Troubleshoot system, network, and device issues promptly
Office Automation & Digital Systems
- Set up and manage; Email systems, Shared drives and cloud storage, Digital filing systems
- Support automation of office processes such as; Digital forms, Data entry templates, Reporting formats and Workflow tracking tools
Microsoft & Google Workspace Support
- Provide user support and training in: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms, Gmail
- Develop templates for reports, farm records, inventory tracking, and HR documentation
- Support data organization and basic analysis in spreadsheets
Data & Systems Security
- Ensure proper data backup procedures
- Manage user access to systems and files
- Support antivirus installation and system protection
- Maintain confidentiality of company data
Documentation & Records Support
- Support digital record management for: Farm production data Inventory records Staff records Procurement and logistics documents
- Convert manual records into digital formats
On-site & Rural IT Support
- Provide hands-on IT support in a rural farm environment
- Ensure connectivity solutions are working (internet, modems, routers)
- Coordinate with external service providers when necessary
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in IT support or office automation
- Experience supporting users in an office or field-based environment
- Must be comfortable living and working in a rural farm environment
- Flexible to support after-hours issues when critical systems fail
Key Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in: Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) Google Workspace tools Basic networking knowledge (LAN, routers, internet setup) Hardware troubleshooting skills File management and digital archiving Understanding of cloud storage systems
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Patient and user-friendly when supporting staff
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
