JOB DETAILS:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Geology; or Mining; or Natural Resource Management; or Mining Engineering; or Geotechnical Engineering; or Mine Survey; or Chemical Engineering; or Mineral Processing; or Metallurgy; or Mineral Geoscience; or Environmental Science from a recognized University/Institution.

Working Experience

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Inspector –Certification for performing the following duties:-

-        Weighing, tagging and recording all produced minerals for each mine site of mining companies/cooperatives;

-        Monitoring mine sites for any potential risk of health, safety, security, fraud and environment damage in mining;

-        Monitoring the operations of mineral supply chains and traceability for designated minerals;

-        Reviewing and evaluating applications for chain of custody licenses for designated minerals;

-        Providing technical support in the tracking and recovery of illegally exploited designated minerals;

-        Reviewing the performance of Chain of Custody (COC) service providers for designated minerals;

-        Organizing sensitization sessions for mining stakeholders on responsible mineral sourcing for designated minerals;

-        Participating in the preparation of workplans, budgets and performance reports for mineral traceability activities;

-        Providing technical guidance in the third-party audits of exporters in compliance with ICGLR regional standards for designated minerals;

-        Supervising and appraising the Inspectors (Traceability);

-        Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
