Post: Logistics Manager
Location: Kampala, Uganda however can be mobilized to Lake Albert area, other construction sites or other cities as required
Primary function:
• Manage Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Material Warehousing and handling & dispatching, Camp and marshaling yards operations, Aviation and develop all operation policies Bi procedures tor the project.
• To provide effective and efficient field support services to the project operation.
Responsibilities:
• Design a logistics execution plan in line with the logistics strategy
• Develop all operation policies at procedures for the project
• Manage the overall logistics activities and assure it is in compliance with IFC Performance Standards, National Content Regulation, and the relevant laws
• Lead the team to achieve the established business objectives based on project business Objectives
• Be responsible for overall logistics operation, plan and budgeting, cost control and EHS issues
• Review and carry out various logistics studies and logistics FEED, cooperate with technical team to develop a robust logistics strategy
• Select LSPs with other departments and organize the qualification examination oi the contractors.
• Establish an international and regional logistics network for pipeline project, ensure cargo move smoothly and efficiently
• To ensure an efficient application and control of HSE requirements and coordination of logistic means across the project.
• Ensure entrance and exit permit obtained and tariff exemption procedures, comply with EA Customs Union rules, regulations and project related IGA & HGAs.
• Approve the import and export materials transportation plan, supervision of the implementation of the plan
• Responsible for supervision and monitoring the declaration, inspection and examination of materials acceptance of delivery, and material warehousing and dispatching.
• Responsible for cargo transportation and material handling.
• Manage the Company transportation personnel between disembark city and site.
• Responsible for camp management and fuel management.
• Develop and implement personnel recruiting plan for logistics team
• Other duties assigned by Midstream Project Director
Requirements:
• Master‘s Degree in Project Management, Petroleum engineering, drilling and completion or the related
• Minimum 15 years‘ working experience in the Oil operations & 5 of which should be logistics Management positions
• Experience in international Project is preferred.
• Technical and Contracts & Procurement experience
• Project Management Experience
• international project and EAC working experience will be Preferred
Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations, oil & gas Operations, Customs and commercial inspection.
• Extensive knowledge of supply chain in the oil and gas industry
• Extensive knowledge of logistics and foreign trade processes.
• Knowledge of declaration, import and export transportation.
• Extensive knowledge of inventory management. warehouse operation and material handling
