1. Purpose of the Job

The Marketing & Communications Officer supports the execution of Centenary Technology Services (Cente-Tech)’s brand, marketing, and stakeholder communication agenda with a strong focus on Enterprise marketing for enterprise ICT solutions, managed services and digital transformation offerings.

The role enhances Cente-Tech’s visibility, strengthens its value proposition in the corporate and government markets and ensures consistent, credible, and compelling communication across all platforms.

The Officer contributes to business growth by producing targeted content, managing digital channels, coordinating campaigns, supporting sales enablement and driving thought leadership that positions Cente-Tech as an industry leader in Uganda and the region.

2. Key Results Areas / Accountabilities

A. Brand & Marketing Communication

  • Support the execution of marketing strategies that promote Cente-Tech’s solutions; including data centre services, cloud, cybersecurity, digital payments, managed services, and digital advisory.
  • Ensure brand consistency across customer touchpoints and uphold Cente-Tech’s visual identity.
  • Conduct market intelligence on ICT trends, competitor offerings and customer needs to inform strategic positioning and go-to-market initiatives.

B. Digital Media & Thought Leadership

  • Manage and update Cente-Tech’s website, social media platforms and digital assets.
  • Produce digital content that communicates Cente-Tech’s technical capabilities: articles, explainer videos, infographics, white papers and blogs.
  • Support thought leadership positioning through executive profiles, tech insights and industry commentary.
  • Track digital analytics and optimize content for engagement and lead generation.

C. Public Relations & Corporate Communications

  • Draft press releases, speeches, talking points, media statements, and success stories showcasing Cente-Tech’s projects and innovations.
  • Maintain relationships with media houses, journalists, tech reporters and ecosystem influencers.
  • Prepare internal communication materials and staff engagement messages that strengthen organisational alignment.

D. Sales Enablement & Business Development Support

  • Develop sales support materials for the Digital Services, Advisory and Managed Services teams.
  • Prepare tailored customer presentations, bid documents and pitch decks in collaboration with solution architects.
  • Support industry events, expos, conferences, and client workshops to enhance visibility and generate leads.
  • Coordinate customer testimonials, case studies and impact stories that demonstrate value delivery.

E. Stakeholder Engagement & Reputation Management

  • Support communication with government agencies, banks, development partners, universities and corporate clients within the Centenary ecosystem and beyond.
  • Coordinate CSR communications
  • Monitor media coverage, track brand perception and flag emerging issues that may impact Cente-Tech’s reputation.
  • Uphold communication protocols, editorial standards, compliance guidelines, and crisis-communication frameworks.

F. Project Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate marketing and communications activities from planning to execution, including agency and vendor management.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, production schedules, and quality control of all communication outputs.
  • Prepare periodic performance reports (campaigns, digital metrics, B2B engagements, stakeholder outreach).
  • Maintain organised repositories of brand assets, content libraries, and digital archives.

3. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
  • Professional certification in CIM, CIPR, Digital Marketing, Brand Management or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Additional training in ICT, digital transformation, UI/UX, or enterprise technology is desirable.

A. Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Enterprise marketing, enterprise customer journeys and corporate decision-making structures.
  • Ability to simplify complex ICT solutions (cloud, cybersecurity, data centre, digital platforms) into clear value propositions.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, website content management, analytics platforms, and CRM systems.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across formats; corporate, technical, executive, and promotional.
  • Working knowledge of design tools (Canva/Adobe), video editing basics, and multimedia content development.
  • Familiarity with the Ugandan and East African ICT ecosystem, including telco, fintech, government ICT, and enterprise technology markets.

5. Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, PR, or brand management; preferably within ICT, technology, telecom, or B2B corporate sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise sales, preparing B2B communication materials, or managing digital platforms.
  • Experience organising events, managing agencies, and coordinating media engagements.
  • Proven track record in crafting compelling corporate narratives and driving engagement.
