On behalf of our client, microfinance institution we seek to recruit a highly competent, motivated and professional individual to fill the position of Operations Manager.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure efficiency in service delivery, strengthen internal controls, and lead teams to achieve portfolio growth while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate must be experienced in microfinance operations, credit management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily branch operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Oversee loan processing, approvals (within limits), disbursement, and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and risk guidelines.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and implement strategies to reduce PAR.
  • Manage and mentor staff to achieve operational and performance targets.
  • Coordinate customer service, client retention, and product delivery processes.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reports.
  • Lead internal audits, field visits, and compliance checks.
  • Support development and rollout of new financial products.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Any degree (Degree in Business, Opereations Management or related field and professional qualification in accounting (CPA and Masters is addede advantage)
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in microfinance or banking operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Background in micrifinance
  • Experience working with loan management software
  • Strong understanding of credit management, risk assessment, and loan portfolio monitoring.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • High integrity, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and microfinance management systems is an added advantage.
