Background

DEED Microfinance a dully registered Microfinance company licensed in Uganda under the Company’s Act and regulated by the Uganda Microfinance Regulation Authority (UMRA). Whose registered office is situated at plot 1 Kisozi close, Kyaggwe Road, Nakasero, Kampala, Uganda.

Job Tittle: Credit Officer

Reports to: Head of Business

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract

Job Summary and Main Responsibilities

Portfolio/Recovery Management

  • Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
  • Close loan applications and monitor them from application through to closing process maintaining effective communication with customers, referral sources and loan support staff.
  • Gather customer’s authorizations and supporting documentation that is required by regulation and/or program guidelines.
  • Fully recover the disbursed funds to a PAR of stated target.

Mobilization of New Clients

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the company every month.
  • Build a proper pipeline and make use of the lead pipeline.
  • Participate in the marketing activities of DEED Microfinance Limited
  • Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available as well as the terms of the services.
  • Generate complete loan applications with corresponding documentation.

Client relationship Management

  • Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Meet with customers to obtain information for both loan applications and answer questions about the process.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after sales support.
  • Any other duties assigned by the managing Director.

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Microfinance, Accounting, Financing, Business Administration or Economics.

Experience

Working experience of at least 1 year.
