Job Position: Operations Manager - Mud Logging (MLG)

Job Summary
The Mudlogging operations manager oversees operation coordination in his perimeter and is the focal point between the field and Excellence Logging offices. He is the permanent link between the Mud Logging Operations and the customer. Purpose & Scope The primary objectives of the Mud Logging Operations Manager are to:
• Be fully accountable for the service delivery and the quality of the operations on site.
• Ensure Management system and all related processes such as Continuous improvement, STOP, or any other HSE reporting is well implemented and is well known by the team.
• Ensure in-town continuity with customers including morning meetings, SQM, invoicing &payment, and DSO.
• Ensure that all employees and any third party involved are aware of all related procedures and have been properly trained.
• Support the Region HR for HR logistics / Crew change and Visa/Work permit.
• Provide information for competency assessment & people development to the Human Resources department.
• Perform Level 1 technical support . In strong relationship with Region SC manager and in line with the power charter, manage Local logistics, international requests for products. Remain aware of all changes in the local regulations
• Use XMD and all other IT tools to manage their business

Responsibilities and principal duties
• Health & Safety (H&S), Environment and Security
• When there are no Country Base Managers assigned, the operation manager is to ensure Company H&S. Environmental & Security Policies, and the elements therein (mentioned above), are widely distributed to all employees.
• To support the collation of H&S, Environmental & Security performance statistics and distribution as required internal and Customer requirements).
• To ensure that thorough incident and accident investigation is carried out in his area. To recommend methods of improving H&S, Environmental & Security at work.
• To ensure that all chemicals / substances are properly stored and labelled.
• To ensure that there is no uncontrolled release of contaminants and pollutants into the environment due to procedures carried by the team. Hazardous chemicals / substances must be disposed in accordance with policies set by Excellence Logging.
• To be aware of and implement all requirements stipulated by the Waste or Environmental Management Policies of Excellence Logging. Ensure that junior members of the team follow these guidelines.
• To ensure all new personnel are given induction and orientation courses
• To ensure that all crew have and use all necessary Personnel Protective Equipment PPE's (safety boots, gloves, hardhat, etc...).
• To liaise with the Personnel Department to optimise H&S, Environmental & Security training.
• To establish necessary emergency / evacuation plans and ensure specific medical information is easily available in case of accident (blood group, vaccinations, allergies.

• Quality, Technical & Operational .
• To assure that the services meet the specifications required by the Customers and that the Operation are at high level standard.
• To implement the use of the Excellence Logging Quality Assurance system to provide the best service to meet and/or maintain Customer satisfaction.
• To ensure that all quality procedures are done weekly reports, safety reports, Service appraisal reports (SAR), etc... and that the field crews send their Monthly Activity Reports, any QAQC reports and requests (Equipment, Consumable, etc...) on the date specified.
• To coordinate equipment and requirements with Base/Country Manager for the field Operation. To ensure that equipment maintenance is carried out as per Group procedures and that faulty, not repairable, equipment is sent back Immediately to Excellence Logging Base.
• To support in the elaboration, validation, or approval all the Final Well Reports and any changes in the format of any Excellence Logging' reports prior to submitting them to the Customer
• To recommend the implementation and use of new techniques and services to increase company activity and profitability and maintain a competitive lead
• To advise Base, Region Managers and Customers towards the use of equipment best adapted for the required service
• To assist Base and/or Region Managers when preparing bid documents and project price equipment.
• To monitor activities and techniques of the competition and of the Customers and he ensures that all the information concerning Mud Logging services is circulated within the Excellence Logging structure by issuing Customer visit reports, equipment failure reports, Customer appraisal report along with the routinely Excellence Logging' reporting.
• To maintain the highest standard of professional conduct in his area of Operation.
• To process all enquiries for more/Improved services. To proactively deal with any negative comments by identifying problems and/or seeking help from the technical support team to solve them.
• To provide the customer with all the information concerning Excellence Logging Mud
• Logging Operation and is alerted to Customer needs. When appropriate, He suggests additional Excellence Logging equipment, processes, resources, and personal knowledge that can enhance and ensure efficient and qualified services requested by the customer.
• To be aware of all the terms of the service contracted by the Customer.
• To carefully controls the profitability of contracts within his scope of activity.
• To ensure prompt follow-up and payment of receivables
• To support in the elaboration, validation, or approval all the Final Well Reports and any changes in the format of any Excellence Logging reports prior to submitting them to the Customer.
• To recommend the implementation and use of new techniques and services to increase company activity and profitability and maintain a competitive lead.
• To advise Base, Region Managers and Customers towards the use of equipment best adapted for the required service.
• To liaise with Base / Country and or Region Mud Logging Manager for technical assistance and field interventions with both standard and special equipment according to priorities defined by the Group.
• To establish and maintain accurate equipment and spare's location, utilisation and status lists in his area of operation.
Personnel, Training & Administrative
• To help build and maintain effective teamwork. To share experience and knowledge with less experienced colleagues.
• To supervise and follow up the Mud Logging personnel, the progress of their competence portfolio and the corresponding promotion timetable, in his area of activity
• To identify training needs and proposes training development sessions.
• To identify the key talents and top performers in his area of activity To ensure evaluation's completion for all relevant personnel in his area of activity. To Support the Region HR for HR logistics / Crew change and Visa/Work permit.
• Commercial
• To assist Base and/or Region Managers during marketing and sales of Mud Logging Services
• Job requirements Education
• Mud Logging Data Engineer technical background to legitimate his position.
• Finance competence (to be defined according to the assignment).
• Planning & Organisation competence (to be defined according to the assignment)
• Previous Experience and Competencies Education/Experience Mud Logging Data Engineer technical background to legitimate his position
