We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Program Coordinator – Regenerative Agriculture based in Kampala office to support the implementation of sustainable land and soil management practices with a focus on biochar technology and regenerative agriculture. The role will provide technical support to field teams, build capacity of farmers, and collaborate with research and development partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Champion the promotion, production, and application of biochar using low-cost, community-level kilns and lead training programs in regenerative practices such as composting, mulching, agroforestry, cover cropping, and biochar.
  2. Build and strengthen collaborations with universities and research partners to conduct on-farm trials, analyze soil health, and document the climate and economic impacts of biochar-based interventions on crop and animal high-value food systems.
  3. Develop and manage field demonstrations of biochar technology and regenerative agriculture practices, potential and GHG emission reductions.
  4. Lead the capacity development of Extension Workers, Community Association Traders and Farmers through training programs and field days.
  5. Conduct biochar technology trials, collect data, and share reports with stakeholders on the inclusive benefits of biochar technology platforms.
  6. Organize and participate in platforms, field days, and stakeholder workshops to promote inclusive and sustainable agriculture practices.
  7. Support the development of proposals for funding to scale-up biochar technology and regenerative agriculture practices in Uganda and beyond.
  8. Provide technical support in climate adaptation, mitigation, Natural Resource Management, or related fields where biochar is regarded as advantageous.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field. • At least 3–5 years’ experience in implementing sustainable agriculture programs. • Experience in biochar technology, regenerative agriculture, or climate-resilient farming is strongly preferred.
