The Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Receptionist to join our small team. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests feel welcomed and informed during their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information and taking messages.
- Greet guests upon arrival, determine the nature of their visit, and direct or escort them to their destinations.
- Receive payments and record receipts for services provided.
- Analyze data to answer questions from customers or the public.
- File and maintain records efficiently.
- Perform administrative support tasks, including proofreading and operating computers to manage various documents.
Preferred Duties
- Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public.
- Collect, sort, and distribute mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
Qualifications
- Education: Post-secondary diploma in Hotel Management or related fields.
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience as a receptionist or in a similar role.
- Skills: Proficient in speaking, active listening, service orientation, critical thinking, and coordination.
- Knowledge Areas: Strong understanding of customer service and personal service practices, as well as basic computer and electronics knowledge.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Luganda.
Desired Attributes
We are looking for someone who is honest, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent. Your ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, and think strategically will be essential to your success in this role.
