Job Summary
To provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in line with clinical standards and protocols, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes.
Job Details
1. Patient Care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and patient progress, reporting any abnormalities promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist in medical procedures and support doctors during rounds.
2. Clinical Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
- Handle emergency situations effectively and provide first aid when required.
3. Patient Support & Education
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and home care.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients.
- Promote health awareness and preventive care practices.
4. Collaboration
- Work closely with doctors, lab staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and handovers.
- Support multidisciplinary teamwork to improve patient outcomes.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Adhere to hospital policies, nursing standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Always ensure patient confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN preferred) from a reputable institute.
- Must be registered with a valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience (Hospital setting preferred).
