Main duties and responsibilities of the role
Dimension The job holder is a part of the company Maintenance team and will report directly to the Instrumentation and ICSS Lead Engineer. They shall work as part of the Instrumentation discipline for the facilities preparing operational maintenance activities (procedure, contracts, spare parts requirements) for instruments and controls systems ensuring that they are technically accurate and can be executed in a safe and efficient manner in the production phase. They shall develop their understanding of the operational requirements and the discipline to be ready to support operations at start-up. After start up, he shall ensure support to site on all topics related to Instrumentation and Controls. He shall also ensure the continuous training of Instrumentation and ICSS Junior engineer. Reporting line in organization Lead ICSS/Instrument Engineer
Activities Project Phase: · Participate to the review of documents and files in the Electronic Data Management System issued by the EPC to ensure they are of sufficient quality to be utilized for MIE activities and by Maintenance Personnel onsite during the Operational phase. · Participate in inter-discipline MIE activities including maintenance and criticality strategy development, global maintenance plan preparation, writing of maintenance plans and procedures. Ensure that all MIE deliverables are in line with National Legislation, Affiliate and COMPANY Specifications and Best practices. · Prepare complex site maintenance procedures for the testing of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) prepared with site supervision, ensuring incorporation of best practice. · Take active role into the Operating spare parts selection process and procurement activities and assist Spare Parts Coordinator as required with the detailed spares requirement per equipment, inspection, shipment, delivery, and storage of spares in COMPANY warehouse(s). · Participate in the review of documents and files in the Electronic Data Management System created and issued by the MIE Spares Contractor. · Ensure adequate preparation, review and validation of the Maintenance dossiers · Preparation of Company Management System (CMS) documents within area of responsibility · Attend SAT/FATs at vendor premises as required · Assistance with the Commissioning/start up teams and Production/Maintenance/Inspection COMPANY teams as required. · Develop Digital Tools and applications to that are required to effectively manage maintenance operations post Startup · Patriciate to development of affiliate procedures related to Industrial Cyber Security in accordance with Company Rules. · Develop technical Scopes of Work for Specialized Maintenance Contracts (SMCs) and be the technical duet for the Call for Tender process. Operational Phase (additional to Project activities) : · Provide specialist technical/engineering advice and guidance to site personnel on the operation and maintenance of instrument and control system equipment ensuring highest safety standards, a timely response to queries and minimal disruption to operations. · Ensure all instrument and controls equipment are maintained and kept in optimum working condition · Ensure a constant follow up of equipment regarding their obsolescence and prepare any required upgrade · Contribute to the ongoing monitoring of strategies for the maintenance and operation of plant/equipment to ensure that all plant and equipment meet verification and compliance requirements · Proactively monitor, review and analyze plant and equipment performance using Digital Tools and provide feedback to Line Management, identifying opportunities to maximize production and performance and share best practice · Ensure the Condition Based Maintenance is used to maximize Instrument equipment availability whilst maintaining the technical integrity of the equipment. · Prepare scopes of work for vendor services and repairs, make recommendations on preferred contractor
Minimum skills & experience selection requirements of suitable candidates
Qualifications/Experience required Qualification: · Degree in Instrumentation and Control engineering from an accredited university or equivalent. Experience: · Minimum 8 years’ experience in Instrument and Controls systems and maintenance in the Oil & Gas environment, two years of which must have been spent working on an operational plant. · A good working knowledge of office software packages such as Excel, and preferably experienced in a CMIMS (e.g. SAP, MAXIMO) · Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills · Must have good working knowledge of codes and standards used in the industry (NEC, NEMA, ISO, IEC, ATEX, NORSOK, ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI etc…) · Awareness of current legislation and practices with respect to plant operation and compliance reporting · Fluent English is mandatory
