JOB DETAILS:
Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The incumbent shall report to the Deputy HRCO and work in liaison with Staff Health Unit (SHU) advisors at HQ and the Medical Coordinator (MedCo) of OCP.:
• Apply the national staff employee health and social policy. Responsible for implementing, linking/communicating, monitoring/ following up national staff health policy and international staff health needs Ensure all new staff are oriented about the health policy and health insurance benefits.
• Provide First Aid and refer to health facility medical emergencies occurring within the Kampala Office
• Organize staff health promotion and education events
• Organize staff vaccination campaigns in the mission against Hepatitis, tetanus, Covid 19 and ensure that the vaccination database is updated. Support the medical coordinator in briefing international staff arrivals about health risks, prevention, and access to health facilities upon arrival.

• Support international staff to make appointments
• Ensures a minimum documentation relevant to the position is maintained ensuring confidentiality both for hardcopy and softcopy filing.
• Ensure awareness of the specific OCG medical protocols for national and international staff
• Ensures the First Aid kits are available at all SUKA facilities (GHS, offices, workshop etc) and updated by the Pharma Tech of SUKA, periodically as per the relevant medical policy.
• Promote the practice of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in SUKA.
• In consultation with OCP MedCo, Establish and maintains a good relationship with selected health providers and specialists in Kampala and other strategic locations where we have majority of our staff and their dependents In close collaboration with the HRCO Assist, ensure that all aspects of the medical insurance for national staff is properly foreseen and implemented (including insurance services renewal, authorizations for special cases, service provider and panel review as may be requested by DHRCo).
• Ensure all medical services (facilitated through Staff health Support) are paid for in a timely manner in consultation with the Accountant/Finance Manager or the insurance provider as may be relevant.
Experiences. Skills and Competencies Required:
Education: Recognized Nursing Degree and registered with the Professional body.
Experience: Minimum 2 years working experience and previous experience with MSF/NGO.
Languages: English, Local language.
Knowledge: Computer literacy and good knowledge of MS- Office is important. Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, strong initiative, able to handle complex assignment with proactive attitude. Team player with strong analytical skills, attention to details (precise), flexible and able to work in a demanding and challenging work environment.
