UI/UX Designer at DFCU group

Contract tenure: One (1) year

Duty station: Head Office

The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for creating outstanding user experiences across all digital channels. This includes developing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and usability in line with global best practices. The candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into seamless user journeys.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead and execute the end-to-end design process for digital products, from research and wireframing to prototyping and high-fidelity UI designs. Develop UI mockups and prototypes that showcase functionality and appearance.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to guide design decisions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • Visualize design concepts through storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Create graphic elements for the user interface, such as menus, tabs, and widgets.
  • Generate original graphic designs, including images, sketches, and tables.
  • Present initial design drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve UX issues, such as responsiveness and usability challenges.
  • Make layout adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Design responsive web and mobile interfaces with a strong emphasis on ease-of-use and
  • Create and maintain design systems, UI kits, and brand guidelines for consistency across platforms.
  • Iterate designs based on feedback and data from users and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies to ensure innovation.
  • Assist with UX writing and ensuring micro-copy is consistent, helpful, and brand aligned.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, especially related to accessibility and privacy.
  • Maintain consistency with style standards for fonts, colours, and images.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or related role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI skills across web and mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Wireframe.cc or similar.
  • Solid understanding of HTML/CSS; experience working with front-end developers is a plus.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience designing for financial services or enterprise applications is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative product development.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating a team spirit and strong communication skills.
  • Good time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
