JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary:

A Waiter is responsible for providing exceptional and friendly service to guests in the dining area. They are the main point of contact for guests, ensuring a positive and memorable dining experience from greeting to farewell.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service:
  • Greet guests warmly, present menus, and explain menu items and daily specials.
  • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
  • Serve food and drinks promptly and correctly.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meal and service.
• Order Management:
  • Upsell additional products (e.g., appetizers, desserts, specialty drinks) appropriately.
  • Process payments (cash, credit, debit) and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Table and Station Maintenance:
  • Set up tables with clean linens, cutlery, and glassware before service.
  • Clear tables and reset them efficiently for the next guests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area and service station.
• Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and bartenders to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist colleagues during peak periods.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Hospitality training is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role is preferred but not always required.
• Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pleasant, patient, and friendly personality.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and under pressure.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and giving change.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Level of Education: associate degree
