JOB DETAILS:
Our client, Horyal Investments Holding Company Ltd has commenced the process to operationalize á leading new sugar factory at AtiakUganda ,East Africa. The Factory, jointly owned by the Government of Republic of Uganda ,with annual production capacity(APC). 60,000 Tonnes of granular sugar seeks to recruit competent persons for the following position.
Job Title: Cane yard Supervisor
Reports to: Mill Engineer
Purpose:
To supervise the cane yard activities including the sugarcane receiving offloading and feeding operations with the aim of achieving the targeted cane crushing capacity during the shift. .

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Promptly peruse the outgoing, supervisor's hand over report and grasp the physical operational conditions of the station and take the necessary action accordingly.
• Check and confirm sugarcane loaded at the right places and that truck drivers comply with the arrangement.
• Oversee the tasks at the under carrier and under feeder tables and that they are continuously and efficiently carried out.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with health, and safety regulations for occupational safety of the workers and security of the plant
• Check and confirm the attendance and punctuality of the subordinate staff and promote efficient performance of their duties
• Maintain subordinate staff discipline and attend to their complaints promptly.
• Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Mill Engineer/ Management from time to time.


Specific knowledge & Skills:
• Cane carrier operations
• Truck pushing and locating
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated with good leadership skills and good supervisory skills.

Required Education qualification:
• A Diploma in Human Resource Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• A Certificate in basic Supervisory Management would be of an added advantage.
Experience:
• A minimum of one to two (1-2) years experience in a responsible supervisory position, handling more than twenty shift workers involving a lot of movement at the duty station.
• Age: 25 Years and above
