JOB SUMMARY:
To coordinate and oversee planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring within UIA, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, efficient resource use, and informed decision-making.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, from a recognized institution.
- Must have completed a Master’s Degree in either Business Administration, Economics, Economic Policy and Planning, Public Policy from a recognized Institution
- Post graduate diploma in financial management is an added advantage
WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least six (6) years working experience or should have served a minimum of three (3) years at Senior level or an equivalent level from a reputable organization.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning & Budgeting: Leads the preparation of departmental and organizational work plans, budgets, tracking of the achievements of the operational targets in line with UIA’s strategic objectives and national development priorities. Identifies resource needs for departmental activities and contributes to proposals for funding or technical support.
- Policy Advisory: Provides input on investment policies and programs based on operational insights and departmental performance. Supports senior management with recommendations to improve efficiency and alignment with government objectives.
- Work Plan Execution: Coordinates the implementation of approved plans, ensuring activities are completed on time, resources are utilized efficiently, and performance indicators are met.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Monitors progress on departmental and organizational plans, consolidates reports, conducts midterm reviews and assessments and produces reports highlighting challenges and recommendations to senior management for action.
- Compliance: Ensures that all activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and UIA policies, maintaining records and supporting audits as required.
- Internal and external Collaboration: Liaises with other departments to ensure seamless planning, budgeting, and reporting processes. Supports senior management in coordinating cross-departmental initiatives.
- Team Coordination and Capacity Building: Supervises and guides planning and budgeting staff, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities. Identifies training needs within the team and supports staff development initiatives. Upholds integrity, accountability, and professionalism in departmental operations, fostering a culture of efficiency and service orientation.
