Children’s rights and violence prevention fund (CRVPF) seeks to hire qualified and experienced field data collectors on a short-term basis to conduct in-person interviews on the empowering youth through data and community development program (EYDCD) in the following areas:
Buikwe, Butambala, Kampala, Kayunga, Kiboga, Kabarole, Luwero, Lyantonde, Lira, Masaka, Mpigi, Mubende, Mukono, Wakiso, and Orukyinga (Isingiro), Kyangwali (Kikuube), Palabek (Lamwo), Rhino (Terego), Kyaka II (Kyegegwa), Omugo (Terego), Lobule (Koboko), Pagirinya (Adjumani) and Parolinya (Obongi) refugee settlements.
The study aims at assessing progress and identifying areas of program improvement.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Must have completed senior six (S.6) and above
- Should have had an experience in conducting electronic data collection
- Should have experience in conducting face-to-face interviews
- Should be able to read write and speak both English and the native language spoken in the community where data will be collected.
- Experience collecting data using online platforms like ODK, Kobo toolbox and Comcare.
- Should have experience working with marginalized groups like Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Refugees.
Responsibilities of the data collectors
- Attend all the training sessions, participate in discussions and pass the assessment test issued during the training
- Administer in-person surveys using kobo collect, KIIs and FGDs.
- Provide feedback during debriefs on data collection activities to improve the quality of the data collection exercise.
- Ensure data integrity is always maintained and minimize errors in survey administration.
- Should be willing to work long hours in any setting.
- You should be able to follow interview guidelines.
- Carry out field data clean-up of recorded data and reconcile any data inconsistencies before uploading.
- Other duties related to the assignment as needed.
- You must have an android smart phone.
Duration: 1- 2 weeks
2 weeks dependent on performance and subject to successful completion of 2-day training and shortlisting of Research Assistant to be hired for the study.
