Job Description
Talent Acquisition
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews, and coordinating selection activities.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Employee Onboarding
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Conduct orientation sessions and provide necessary training on company policies, procedures, and benefits.
Performance Management
- Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems and assist in the administration of performance evaluations.
- Support managers to develop performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and assist in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, team building and professional development opportunities.
Leave administration
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on leave entitlements, procedures, and any legal requirements.
- Prepare reports on leave usage, trends, and costs for management.
Compensation and Benefits
- Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
- Support the communication of benefits information to employees and address related inquiries.
- Administration of payroll including accurate data input and the correct codes are charged for personnel costs.
Collaboration with HR Team
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure alignment of HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Support the Senior Human Resources Officer in various HR projects and initiatives.
Decision Making/ Job Influence
- Operational decisions
- Influencing decisions related to workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, and HR strategies that support organizational objectives.
Working Conditions
- The role is primarily office-based at the East African Development Bank headquarters, providing a professional and collaborative work environment.
- Flexibility may be required to accommodate meetings, training sessions, and project deadlines, which could occasionally extend beyond regular hours.
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CIPD) is an added advantage.
Previous relevant work experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and training and development is preferred.
