About the AIM Programme
In 2022, the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with BRAC International (BI) announced an initiative to create a positive and measurable impact for 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women and 9.5 million people across seven countries in East and West Africa, including Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda.
There is mounting urgency to support adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) living in poverty, which has been further amplified by the global pandemic. Through this partnership, scalable economic development approaches will be delivered in communities to foster the agency and voice of AGYW. They will have the opportunity to fulfill their aspirations, achieve sustainable livelihoods, and engage in advocacy issues.
BRAC International is implementing an integrated and holistic model to address the various life cycles of a young woman living in poverty, ensuring she is able to transition safely from adolescence to adulthood. She will be equipped with the appropriate skills, tools, and access to finance to effectively exercise her agency and build a fulfilling and productive livelihood.
JOB PURPOSE
Within their assigned region, the Regional IT Officer holds the responsibility of offering IT support, supervising BRAC's computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure to guarantee their efficient use. They are also accountable for keeping an updated IT asset register at the regional level. The officer is entrusted with supporting the day-to-day business operations within the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the team to develop an IT strategic plan in alignment with the BRAC’s strategic direction.
- Work with the IT Manager to cascade and implement the IT strategic plan to but not limited to the specific region of assignment.
- Direct and coordinate the local implementation of BRAC IT operations, projects, and programs, ensuring alignment of IT services with the business needs of the area(s) and adherence to established project management principles and best management practices
- Build the capacity of staff in BRAC systems and resolving basic IT-related challenges.
- Provide first-line assistance to users when problems with systems arise and escalate where necessary and share feedback to users.
- Provide direct support to end users to ensure quality, functional, contemporary and secure IT systems, the ERP, internet, tools and equipment in the assigned areas.
- Maintain an up-to-date regional IT asset register of all IT devices Laptops, External Hard Disks, Desktops, Phones, Tablets, Servers, Network devices
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Computer engineering
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- IT Maintenance and repair
- Troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in teams
- Problem solving skills
- Planning and organizing skills
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years working in a busy IT environment, Experience in working with reputable NGOs is an added advantage
