The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is a government agency established to promote and facilitate investment in Uganda. This role is crucial in identifying and engaging potential investors to foster economic growth.
Responsibilities or duties
- Profile domestic investors by region and industry to support targeted engagement and investment readiness
- Conducts research to identify joint venture investors from emerging markets, and promote and disseminate information on Uganda’s investment opportunities
- Receive and engage prospective investors, providing relevant and up-to-date information on procedures, sector opportunities, incentives and investment environment.
- Coordinate the licensing of domestic investors.
- Monitor licensed investors’ progress through site visits, follow-ups, engagements to address challenges and provide tailored aftercare services.
- Facilitate the transition of traders to investors through access to necessary information on compliance, incentives, link them to technology transfer partnerships, sustainable manufacturing Initiatives, brand and packaging and other business linkages.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Business Administration/ Management, International Business, International Trade, Economics, Marketing, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, from a recognized university or institution.

Preparation of investment briefs
Excel (data tools and dashboards)

Minimum of 2 years working experience

- KEY RESULTS AREAS
Prepares detailed investment profiles and contributes to the development of project proposals for targeted priority sectors to attract potential investors.
Identifies, screens, and evaluates potential investors to support targeted investment promotion efforts.
Collaborates effectively with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless delivery of investment promotion and facilitation services.
Prepares accurate and timely performance reports to support departmental planning and evaluation.
Executes assigned duties promptly and professionally, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department.
