Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Oversee repairs and ensure work is completed according to specifications
- Manage the maintenance budget and analyze costs
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies
- Track the entire life cycle of vehicles, form acquisition to replacement
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, registration, insurance and inspections
- Develop fleet management tools to monitor and report on fleet status.
- Ensure that the fleet complies with all relevant safety, environmental and legal regulations
- Investigate and report on fleet related incidents and accidents
- Enforce safety regulations and conduct staff safety meetings
- Emergency response & rescue services in case of accident and breakdowns.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Mechanical /Power & automotive engineering
- A diploma in Mechanical /Power & Automotive engineering
Details of experience
At least 3-5 years of experience managing a fleet of heavy duty trucks and trailers or in a related maintenance role is typically required.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Oversee repairs and ensure work is completed according to specifications
- Manage the maintenance budget and analyze costs
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies
- Track the entire life cycle of vehicles, form acquisition to replacement
