Background information about the job or company:
The incumbent will be responsible for performing various duties related to preserving and managing archives, implementing policies, coordinating records acquisition, and providing training on archival procedures.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Preserving and conserving archives
- Managing repository services and storage of records
- Implementing archives policies, standards, and procedures
- Coordinating acquisition and accessioning of archival records
- Training and providing guidance on Archival policies and procedures
- Conducting disaster preparedness awareness drills
- Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications or requirements:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Records and Archives Management; or Library and Information Science obtained from a recognized University/Institution. OR An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences majoring in any of the following subjects: History; or Political Science; or Public Administration obtained from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants should possess a Masters Degree in Records and Archives Management; or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
- Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Archivist in Government.
