On behalf of our client in the Oil & Gas Sector, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Territory Manager to work in Uganda
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Retail Manager
Supervises: Station Managers
Overview of Job Purpose
The position holder is responsible for business growth and profitability in the region, achieving high standards of operational efficiency of stations while enhancing company controls and regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibility Area
Sales and marketing
- Coordination and enforcement of the sales of Fuels, Lubricants and LPG to meet the set targets consistently. Secure and maintain profitable commercial accounts in Industries and Institutions
- Coordinating sales promotion campaigns, customer open days and other innovative promotional initiatives within the territory in liaison with the head office
- Actively sell Hass Fuel Card with a view to secure and retain volume for longer term
- Conducting market intelligence surveys and guide the marketing team on opportunities on the ground and how best to take advantage of them
- Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing sales data
- Identify and advise the company about the future retail investment opportunities
Operation and service excellence
- Ensure availability of fuels, LPG and lubricants in all retail outlets at all times
- Achieve regular maintenance of the company assets by liaising with the maintenance team to ensure timely repair and servicing of service station equipment
- Receiving and attending to customer complaints and provide guidance on how any gaps in customer satisfaction can be filled
- Supervision of station managers and retail teams to achieve set performance standards and effectively manage staff transitions and growth
- Step in to assist in running a station when need arise
Training, compliance and controls
- Enforcing compliance to EHS requirements and ISO 9001:2015
- Enforce compliance to set retail operation procedures and all company policies and regulations in all retail outlets in the region
- Ensuring compliance to statutory requirements for business sites in the respective territory
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of dealers and ensuring that dealers strictly adhere to the Dealer License Agreement
- Participate in staff recruitment and deliver on training programs in liaison with the HR department
- Manage OPEX within Business Plan
- Establish necessary control measures to ensure operational efficiency
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
- Degree in business/ marketing/ commerce or related field
- Professional qualification in CIM will be an added advantage
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in downstream petroleum retail, FMCG route to market, automotive aftermarket, telecom, retail network operations or in sales with an excellent track record
- Demonstrate experience in a supervisory role
Skills and desirable qualities for success

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Presentation skills
- Flexibility and mobility
