The Uganda Episcopal Conference (UEC), the legal body of Catholic Bishops of Uganda with funding from Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) is implementing the Comprehensive HIV Epidemic Control project through FBO/PNFP health facilities in the seven CDC supported regions within Uganda. The project supports PNFP facilities in Masaka, Kampala, Mubende, Soroti, Hoima, West Nile and Rwenzori regions. UEC would like to fill the following positions with quality and highly motivated candidates able to work with a dynamic project team at the Uganda Catholic Secretariat Eligible and interested candidates should apply and attach their signed CVS copies of certificates, degrees, and testimonials. Job Title: Data Scientist (1 Position)
Duty Station: Kampala
Reports To: Senior Technical Advisor- Strategic Information
Job summary:
Data Scientist will organize, analyze and interpret data and statistical information from various databases to support project staff and stakeholders use data for decision making. The holder will generate dashboards, utilize Health stats tool to generate consolidated quantitative data adhoc and routine reports across regions, build capacity of M&E staff at regions and facilities to conduct data site- and region-specific analyses and data quality audits for program management and improvement.

Job title: Well Placement Engineer - Job Description
The Well Placement Engineer is responsible for assisting in delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable products and services to our customers. The job consults with operations groups as needed to support the area of expertise and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of product and service delivery and formally communicates findings. The Well Placement Engineer actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the PL in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as required

Additional Responsibilities
• Provide technical support in the area of expertise throughout the Sales and Product and Service Delivery process.
• Assist as required with the development of technical job designs for BLS.
• Assist with identifying areas where new and cost effective techniques can be applied.
• Explore opportunities for value-added products and services.
• Consult with Design/Technical Engineer role as required to optimize the technical design.
• Assist in evaluating technical viability and overall appraisal of tenders as related to the area of expertise.
• Remain current on new technologies.
• Maintain customer visibility through active participation in professional society activities and calls for papers.
• Understand the competition's technical offering.
• Participate in external technical societies and communities.
• Contribute, write and review technical publications.
• Engage with local universities, Customer institutes and research organizations.

Exposures and Experiences:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 6 years' experience in the Oil and Gas sector
• At least 2 years' experience as a Well Placement Engineer
• At least 2 years' experience working on MWD/LWD
• At least 2 years' experience handling Well Correlation and LWD data interpretations (an added advantage)
