JOB DETAILS:
Title: Data Entry Clerk -Computer Programming - 1 Post
Ref No: UBTEB/HRM-EXT/006/11/2022
Salary Scale: BTEB 7
Reports to: ICT Officer

Job Purpose:
To provide support in writing, coding and managing software applications and solutions to operate systems more efficiently

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in writing and testing code for new programs and computer instructions for the Board
• Participate in coding, editing source-code and debugging the Board’s EMIS
• Assist in automating, and updating programs and software solutions.
• Participate in identifying and correcting coding system and programme errors.
• Provide support in managing database systems
• Participate in rewriting and maintaining programs for different operating systems.
• Assist in implementing build systems
• Participate in providing technical support to programme users
• Participate in collaborations with other software developers in the creation of programs
• Assist in securing programs against cybersecurity threats.
• Perform any other duties assigned to him/her from time to time.

Person Specifications:
Qualifications and Working Experience
• A minimum of Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Programming from a reputable Institution.
• A bias in algorithm and coding languages, including C++, Java, SQL, C#, HTML and others.
• One year experience in using Java, C++, SQL, C#, and HTML experience will be an added advantage.
• 20-40 years of age at entry.

• Comprehension of algebra concepts to apply to data and to generate reports
• Self-driven, priority-driven, deadline-driven, multi-tasking and ability to drive teamwork

• Strong aptitude for both mathematics and learning new technology.
• IT and superior communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of operating systems

JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Data Entry Clerk ICT (Transcript Processing) –
Ref No: UBTEB/HRM-EXT/005/11/2022
Salary Scale: BTEB 7
Reports to: Data Processing and Awards Officer

Job Purpose
To print transcripts and ensure maintenance of transcripts and certificate records through proper filing of all documents and for processing transcript requests.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Print transcripts and maintains records of printed transcripts.
• Verifies candidates records in the system for transcript printing.
• Processes requests for academic transcripts;
• Submits list of names of transcript requestors for balance clearances
• Sorts and files correspondence, reports, or other materials
• Processes documents requiring various procedural knowledge specific to area of assignment;
• Keeps office documents filed properly and up-to-date;
• Keeps supplies ordered and updated;
• Answers telephone calls, records and delivers messages;
• Obtains necessary signatures and routes documents appropriately and provide follow-ups;
• Provides information to other units and the public, applying significant knowledge of departmental rules;
• Keeps well informed of changes in academic programs;
• Assists the department with clerical duties;
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of Diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Studies or Business Management, Office Administration or other related fields from a reputable institution.
• Proven experience in Customer care or related fields will be an added advantage
• Basic knowledge in office operations and practices.
• Must be skilled in computer technology, the use of Microsoft Word, and a general records office operation
• Basic knowledge in printing and work with networked printers is required.
• Must be able to work extended hours of operations; must be able to stay on tasks with assignments through completion.
• 20 – 40 years of age at entry.
