Position summary:
The Clinicians will work with and support respective health facility teams to enrol all newly identified HIV positive clients in care and on ART, and to provide high quality HIV and TB Care and treatment services along the care continuum as per the national guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment through ongoing patient clinical assessments and management, data reviews and reporting, and applying quality improvement approaches to close existing service quality gaps.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Participate in day-to-day running of the HIV/AIDS and integrated HIV/TB clinics at supported health facilities including daily enrollment of all newly identified HIV positive clients.
• Work with other health facility staff and project seconded volunteers to strengthen targeted HIV eligibility screening at all facility entry points and testing all those eligible for the HIV test.
• Daily review of all HTS services data tools both at facility and from outreaches to track all new HIV positive clients in collaboration with community linkages structures and ensure their enrolment into care and on ART to completion.
• Work with the facility, district and project M&E teams to ensure up-to-date data collection and reporting mechanisms are responsive to the needs of the district, project, MoH and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the project’s, facilities and district’s HIV/AIDS support for activities is well-coordinated and demonstrate results towards set targets.
• In collaboration with supported facility, district and cluster staff monitor and support attainment of HIV Care enrolment, Care & Treatment Performance targets as per the national guidelines.
• Work with other facility, district, and project staff to plan and implement quality improvement activities to improve HIV testing outputs, enrolment and retention of clients in care and on ART, clinical and laboratory services monitoring aimed at improved delivery of high-quality HIV continuum of services.
• Support facilities in forecasting, quantifying, and requisitioning adequate commodities to support the HIV care and treatment continuum including ARVs, HIV test kits, viral load kits and opportunistic infections (O. Is) management medicines.
• Support health facilities in the management of patients with Advanced HIV Disease and implement active pharmacovigilance for HIV and TB medicines.

Qualifications, job requirements and competencies:

• A Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Nursing with experience in HIV and TB clinical services delivery improvement
• Additional training in HIV/AIDS and TB clinical management
• Knowledge in HIV/AIDS clinical management, including the current national guidelines for HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment.
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing HIV/AIDS and TB services in clinical settings.
• Willingness to work in rural settings.
• Excellent Counselling, Interpersonal, Communication and Computer/ICT Skills.
• Ability to communicate in the language dialects used in East Central region (Lusoga, Lugweri, Swahili, Samia, Luganda).

Job purpose:
The Veterinary Officer is charged with providing technical support to the PFL Farmers Network department in improving the quality of poultry and bigger weight of eggs so as to enable the farmers be able to make profits from the added weight of eggs. This job therefore entails working closely with the farmers and PFL Extension Officers in order to maintain a healthy poultry stock, provide guidance on sourcing of good quality chicks, drugs, feeds and proper management of a practices for increased egg productivity.

Key tasks/duties:
• Prepare periodic work plans and budgets to provide guidance to the veterinary services sector within the farmers network department on the priority actions and resource allocations, ensure that there is value for money and adherence to financial management processes.
• Provide technical guidance to poultry producers for improvement in the management of the birds, disease prevention and management; and proper handling of eggs (weighing and clean of eggs);
• Develop, update and maintain veterinary services information databank on the Farmers Network Management Information System (FARNMIS) for timely and accurate computations of veterinary services required and their schedules;
• Support the field level production trainers especially on technical aspects that the farmers will want to know and maintain an effective coordination with the staff, trainers and clients in provision of timely veterinary information and feedback;
• Support the planning, budgeting and preparation of reports for the farmers’ network department, track the relevant indicators and generate reports of activities as a measure of performance.
• Participate and facilitate periodic learning, information sharing and knowledge dissemination through the knowledge management platforms.

Education and aptitude:

• The applicant should hold a Minimum of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from a recognized University / Institution and any other related fields;
• A Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Preventive Medicine; or Animal husbandry with a bias in poultry management and egg handling and Agribusiness will be an added advantage
• Good interpersonal, team work and leadership skills.
• High integrity and willingness to conduct themselves transparently and professionally
• Management experience and an ability to communicate key information in a clear, informative and collaborative manner. Job related experience and knowledge:
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine with a bias in Poultry production (Layers) and quality egg handling and marketing from a reputable organization.
• Knowledge in Veterinary Public Health and Drug management.
• Good writing skills to produce quality and timely reports and case studies for wider knowledge sharing.
• Extensive knowledge in use of digital databases and providing updates in the FARNMIS system especially on services offered, requested and any other system transactions as required.
• Good understanding of financial management procedures and standards with public, private and donor funds.
• Experience of working with diverse partners including development partners and decentralized government structures.
• Excellent computer knowledge of packages like Excel, MS Word, Access and other computer applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall purpose of the job.

Responsible for performing X-ray /USG examination according to protocols, security measures and standards of hygiene and privacy in order to contribute to the improvement of the health condition of patients.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible to perform safe, high quality radiographic imaging and analysis to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients, reporting immediately to the medical referent any problem regarding patients health status
• Prepare patients for imaging including explaining procedures, compiling medical history, providing necessary protective gear and upholding patient confidentiality at all times
• Ensure staff/patient compliance to all radiation safety regulations including use of protective aprons and devices, and clearly marking and respecting radiation areas; identify vulnerable persons to radiation, such as pregnant women, and protect them accordingly
• Ensure application of hygiene protocols in the maintenance of equipment and X-ray/USG room; performing cleaning of X-ray /USG devices and ensure proper waste disposal
• Responsible for quality assurance by auditing own practice and ensuring that radiography equipment remains in good condition and makes necessary requisition for repair needs
• Perform regular stock inventory and ensure all materials are stored according to each specific condition; make requisitions for materials through Pharmacist in charge .
• Ensure biomedical equipment is in good working order by using in accordance with user manual and protocols, perform cleaning and minor maintenance, undertaking regular quality assurance checks; alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning, damage/loss/robbery of X-ray /USG room material and devices
• Ensure that medical practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to AHPC/AEC/MOH/KSL professional Code of Conduct
• Ensure direct reports have clear objectives, receive mentorship and participate in capacity building opportunities
• Conduct performance evaluations and enforce disciplinary process as per KSL policy
• Ensure data collected is accurate and submit reports including electronic according to schedule.
• Attending Continuous Professional Training regularly & maintain CME records.

Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:

A minimum of a Diploma in Radiography from a recognized Institution and a certificate of registration with the Allied Health Professional Council.

Experience, Skills and Competences:
2 years of radiography experience is required Social psychology and counseling, good communication interpersonal skills
