Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring excellence in service delivery, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of hospitality management and a commitment to upholding the hotel’s brand values and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, events, and guest services.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate department heads and staff to achieve high performance and service excellence.
- Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction across all departments.
- Collaborate with the finance team to manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost control measures.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive occupancy, guest loyalty, and revenue growth.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Address guest feedback and complaints professionally, using insights to continuously improve the guest experience.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective procurement and service delivery.
- Utilize hotel management systems efficiently — prior experience with Ezee is preferred.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to hotel owners or the management board.
- Uphold and promote the hotel’s brand, mission, and values in all areas of operations.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years’ proven experience in hotel management or senior operational roles.
- Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills.
- Solid knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, and revenue management practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a guest-centric approach to service.
- Proficient in hotel management software (e.g., Ezee) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry in Kampala or Uganda is an added advantage.
