JOB OVERVIEW:
The Visual & Digital Communications Assistant creates engaging written, graphic, and video content while staying up to date on latest marketing technologies and social media.
KEY DUTIES:
- Create, design, and lay-out, a wide range of day-to-day marketing materials, including print, digital, and social media in accordance with Yalelo branding
- Maintains Yalelo Uganda social media presence across all digital channels by creatively producing designs both static and motion to increase growth and retention of our customers.
- Measures and reports on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals. (ROI and KPIs)
- Develops an intimate understanding of the Yalelo Uganda brand and culture ensuring brand execution through messaging, design, and overall digital experience.
- Develops engaging online content including forums, videos, graphics, and blogs; monitors and analyses content success.
- Keeps abreast of new social media sites, web technologies, and digital marketing trends; implements these new technologies in developing campaigns and update current campaigns to include new information.
- Develops ongoing customer digital engagement campaigns and programs to increase touch points and interactions with customers.
- Ensures an integrated approach and collaborates closely with the marketing team to create connections between experiential initiatives and digital, social media, PR, and shopper marketing.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design is preferred; a portfolio of design samples is preferred.
- 1 – 2 years of graphic design and communications experience.
- Experience using and preparing social media posts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to share key messages and updates preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Tools and Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and display initiative.
- Receptive to feedback and open to learning.
- Proven integrity, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task.
- Planning, organizing, preparing facilitation materials and guides skills.
- Portfolio of design work.
