Invitation for Bids for the Sale of Disposal of used wagons, Motor Vehicles, and other obsolete assets

1. The Uganda Railways Corporation intends to sell Wagons, coaches, sleepers, and rails within the Uganda Network to end users and manufacturers of steel materials and products in accordance with the alternative disposal system (accreditation) granted by PPDA, and Motor Vehicles and other obsolete assets by public bidding open to all bidders. Some Assets are sold ‘as is, where is’ basis and others shall be weighed and sold in kilograms. The Uganda Railways Corporation will have no further liability after sale.
2. Uganda Railways Corporation now invites sealed bids for the purchase of used wagons, Motor Vehicles, and other obsolete assets.
3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003 of the Government of Uganda and the alternative disposal system from PPDA and is Restricted to end users/manufacturers of steel materials and products with verifiable evidence for some lots and Public Bidding open to all bidders for other lots as indicated per lot within the bidding document.
4. Interested bidders may inspect the Assets at the locations, time and date indicated in the table below: Inspection shall be at the cost of the bidders. Interested bidders may obtain further information from the Procurement and Disposal Unit of Uganda Railways Corporation at Plot 57, Nasser Road, First Floor, Room 10.

Room No. 10, Uganda Railways Headquarters Building and inspect the bidding document at the address given at 7(b) below from 08:00am to 05:00pm on working days Monday to Friday.

The Bidding Document in English shall be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 250,000 for Lots Restricted to end users/manufacturers of steel materials and products and UGX 50,000 for Lots under public bidding. The method of payment will be CASH payable to the Chief Cashier, Room 5, First Floor, Headquarters Building, Plot 57, Nasser Road, Kampala, Uganda. The payment receipt issued by the Chief Cashier will be presented to the Procurement & Disposal Unit at the address indicated below to obtain the bidding document.
11. Bids must be delivered to the address indicated in 7(c) below at or before 11:00am on 24.06.2025. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address indicated in 7(d) below at 11:15am, on 24.06.2025.
