JOB SUMMARY
The Rural Development, Gender Expert will provide technical expertise and strategic advice in the fields of rural development and gender for the Reforest Uganda intervention. The expert will work closely with the executing agencies of the two grants awarded, ensuring the effective integration of gender considerations across all stages of the project cycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide advice and guidance in the fields of rural development and gender to the executing agencies of the two grants awarded by the intervention Reforest Uganda.
- Facilitate gender mainstreaming in all phases of the project cycle.
- Promote rural development actions and gender mainstreaming in all phases of the work.
- Implement feasibility studies, review draft project reports, papers, studies.
- Write reports, briefs, notes and articles.
- Analyze and review, from a gender and rural development perspective, literature on policy, legal, and institutional frameworks.
- With the other members of the Soroti Technical Unit and the PMU promote
- disaggregated data collection for monitoring and reporting.
- Participate in sector meetings at district and regional level when requested.
- Develop, implement and facilitate training Needs Assessment, Training Modules and
- Manuals for the Public and Private sectors, Local Authority and the Communities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s and master’s degree in relevant fields.
- Seven- year experience in Rural Development and Gender issues in Uganda.
- Proven knowledge and experience in Rural Development and Gender issues.
- Good knowledge of the Eastern Region and Karamoja socio-economic and environmental landscape.
